UPDATE - October 2025

The WPBL shut down in 2024, but still receives roughly 57 million queries a day (through old configurations). Using the best practices suggested in RFC 6471, the WPBL operator is peforming a graceful termination of the service.

The WPBL nameservers now point to dummy TEST-NET addresses which will result in lookup errors and timeouts. Please remove WPBL from your configuration files.

UPDATE - August 2025

The rsync service has been turned off.

IMPORTANT UPDATE - November 2023

After 20 years of operation, this service will be shut down in 2024.

The blocklist no longer contains any entries; it's an empty list.

If you run a mail service and currently query our DNSBL or rsync feed, please stop querying the WPBL. The service will be completely shut down in 2024.

If you run a mail server, there is no action for you to take, because your IP address is not listed on the WPBL. The list contains no entries.

Querying the WPBL

Back when it was operational, the DNSBL was served under db.wpbl.info but can no longer be queried.
